Last weekend, 407 attendees from over 20 countries converged at the NLP International Conference. There was buzz and energy, lively conversation and joy as friends met again and new friends were made.

The organisation of the conference and attention to detail was super; the programme, quality of the speakers and their presentations were first rate. The common areas where participants mixed and mingled, debated and discussed and found sustenance, wandered and engaged with the Exhibitors were bright and colourful and felt big enough to accommodate the mass of souls and small enough to be welcoming and accessible. The sounds of chatter and laughter was energising.

The NLPtCA were delighted to be part of all of this. Folk at all stages of their NLP journey stopped to talk to us at our stand. We learned how they use NLP: for themselves, as part of their day-to-day work, as coaches and consultants, counsellors and mentors, within the medical professions and all sizes of companies and corporates. When we parted company they left knowing that Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy is a path they could choose to take and left us knowing a little more about their world, their challenges and expectations and what this would mean for them if they chose to follow the psychotherapy path.

As NeuroLinguistic psychotherapists we were delighted to spend time back in the NLP community and to re-introduce ourselves to our community.

We're proud to have a strong presence at this year's NLP International Conference. For the first time, this annual event - which attracts delegates from all over the world - has a dedicated therapy stream. On Saturday 18th May, our very own Bruce Grimley (Board lead on Research & Ethics, NLP Conference) is presenting his '7 C's Courage' model of psychotherapy

We are delighted that neurolinguistic psychotherapy is getting the recognition it deserves at this important NLP event.

The NLPtCA will also have a stand at the show so come along to find out more about the various ways of becoming an NLP psychotherapist, joining our organisation, or just to say hello. We'd love to see you.

In our Winter Newsletter we stated that the Therapist Map function was currently unavailable due to an increase in fees from the provider. The Board are addressing this matter and will ensure Members are kept updated with any progress.

An issue has also since arisen with the Search All Therapists (SAT) function and as a temporary 'fix' this has been removed. However a full listing of members has been created on the SAT page, with a click through to your profiles still being available.

The Board remain committed to continuing to work on improving the website.

We know it can be a bit of a chore sometimes finding useful ways to keep up with your annual CPD requirements. That is why we have introduced a new book reviews section to the website (under Share your CPD).

The first review is How Emotions Are Made - The Secret Life of the Brain by Lisa Feldman Barrett.

Remember, one share a month from each of us creates a rich source of CPD opportunities for all. Check out the book review section here.

Whether you’re a therapist or a coach using NLPt, share relevant CPD activities and/or resources (books, courses, articles, video etc) you’ve experienced and we’ll share it here for all members to access. Each month we’ll highlight the latest CPD posts back to you.

To share your CPD, or submit a book review, email: admin@nlptca.com

Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming – what’s the difference?

Neuro linguistic programming is defined as ‘the study of the structure of subjective experience’ or ‘An attitude, a methodology, that leads to a trail of techniques’ or ‘Modelling Excellence’.  You may have your own definition because that’s part of the beauty of NLP – it’s flexible and personal!
